Fun on the Web Aug 31 '09 Andy Rooney on Women

In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about
women over 40:

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few
reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask,
'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.

If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around
whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more
interesting.

Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at
the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you
deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you, if they think they can get
away with it.

Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's
like to be unappreciated.

Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a
woman over 40.

Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her
younger counterpart.

Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you
are a jerk, if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where
you stand with her.

Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately,
it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman
over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of
himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for
free? here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against
marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig
just to get a little sausage!

Fun on the Web Aug 29 '09 Entourage

Ok, we have hit the dregs of the TV preseason, so I have been playing with my cable On Demand feature which offers many TV series archives and with the library which offers previous seasons episodes on DVD. My new favorite, is Entourage with Adrian Grenier as Vincent Chase (the star), Kevin Dillon as (his brother) Johnny 'Drama' Chase, and Jeremy Pivens as Ari Gold a wise cracking agency head. If you haven't already, check it out. It's on HBO.

Have I ever mentioned I love my George? I am on my
3rd, 4th and 5th ones now. Yes I have multiple grills:
the indoor outdoor version, a small one for cooking
for one, and the large Next Generation.

I have always cooked by the seat of my pants but
sometimes you just need a feel for how long things
will take. The web is awesome for checking that out:

Fun on the Web Aug 9 '09 Tarot Cards

Recently I had the pleasure of a class in Reading Tarot Cards.
For many years I had someone who read my cards but now
she is gone so I may start reading them myself. To do that I
must find a deck I like myself so I have been doing the home-
work. This site shows images and reviews for hundreds if not
thousands of different decks so you don't get them home, open
them up and discover they just won't work for you.

Imagine my surprise when I got online today and found an article about a new Jeff Healy album! Ruf Records announced a September 8th US release date for "Songs From The Road". Released in Canada by Stony Plain Records in July, a new collection of eleven previously-unreleased live performances taken from concerts recorded in Norway, England, and Canada during 2006 and 2007.

Produced by Healey's friend and band member, bassist Alec Fraser, Songs From The Road displays a mix of original material and cover songs such as:
White Room (Cream)
Come Together (The Beatle's)
Whipping Post (The Allman Brothers)
While My Guitar Gently Weeps (George Harrison)

Healey also offers an updated version of his 1988 hit "Angel Eyes."

Fun on the Web Aug 1 '09 Sad But True

A teenager brings her new boyfriend home to meet her parents. They're appalled by his haircut, tattoos, piercings and vocabulary. Later, the girl's mom says, "Dear, he doesn't seem to be a very nice boy."

"Oh, please, Mom!" says the daughter. "If he wasn't nice, would he be doing 500 hours of community service?"
